DPI's intern program was initiated to broaden our relationship with the local community and allow interested students to view first hand the ins and outs of the entertainment lighting industry.

"As a graduating MFA candidate from UC Irvine's School of Drama, my theatrical lighting education was quite thorough, but I was very aware of the fact that there is more to light than just theater. Design Partners' internship program provided me with an excellent introduction to the world of television and special events lighting. Design Partners gave me to opportunity to meet, observe, talk to, and spend time with some of the biggest names in television lighting design, as well as their equally talented programmers. The knowledge gained from working with and observing these industry professionals could never be replaced in the classroom. Design Partners' internship is very flexible, as they worked with me to cater to my individual interests and schedule. Design Partners also gave me the opportunity to further my own design and programming skills in their ShowViz Light Lab, where I was able to explore ESP Vision and the Virtuoso console.  I thank Design Partners for the opportunity to learn, create, and observe."
