For the live CBS broadcast from Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, dick clark productions once again brought in lighting designer, Olin Younger.
Known to both fans and industry insiders as country music's "Party of the Year," the sold-out show was broadcast in 178 countries and also seen by 800,000 men and women in the Armed Forces. Reba McEntire, who has hosted the Academy of Country Music Awards a record seven times, was the 2004 host.
Olin Younger used a package of automated lighting equipment from Vari*lite with a package of 282 fixtures and obtained conventional lighting equipment from Fourth Phase.
The show was executive produced by Dick Clark and R.A. Clark, produced by Barry Adelman and directed by Jeff Margolis. The executive in charge of production was Bob Bardo, and the executive in charge was Fran LaMaina. Howard Malley served as Associate Producer.
