National Bingo Night is a high-energy, first of its kind, interactive game of luck based on the popular American pastime, Bingo. The game is played each Friday on ABC with the viewing public invited to join along. A contestant in the studio tries their luck against the studio audience for a chance to win cash, trips and prizes. Hosted by Ed Sanders (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition), this is the first time on network television that a series gives viewers a real-time interactive experience with the chance to win valuable prizes.
Andrew Glassman (Glassman Media) executive-produces & created. Glassman requested a stadium or sporting-event type look to add to the excitement of the event. To give the impression of stadium lights Morgan used a rig with over 500 pars. "There is a lot of activity with the lighting the entire show, it is a spectacle of lighting," John explains. Texture and color was important, a 370 ft. cyc was lit with LED fixtures and 30 VL 3000's. In total there were over 1000 lighting sources on this project.
John presented the producers with pre-visualization 3D renderings from the ShowViz™ Lite Lab. John feels rendering the project in the LiteLab was an incredibly valuable way to communicate the impact of the visual design and where money was being spent. "It is amazing to look back at my pre-viz renderings, and now at the actual shoot photos, and see the how well ShowViz™ can show you the future," states John.
